Championship at Moon Valley Country Club
About
Moon Valley Country Club's Championship course features excellent conditions and a spot in Arizona's long golf tradition on a par-72 18-hole course first designed by Dick Wilson and redesigned by Bob Cupp and Associates. This golf course challenges all levels, playing 5,285-7,216 yards.
Moon Valley Country Club's Championship course begins on a par-4 371-yarder, requiring a drive left to see the green: bunkers guard front and left. The fourth is a par-5 511-yarder. Shoot a birdie. Keep the tee shot away from the right fairway bunker. Close on the 411-yard, par-4 18th, which requires an accurate drive to miss bunkers right and trees and water left. You'll face the course's most intimidating shot: a two-tiered green, featuring a left side four feet higher than the right, 15 yards deep. It's guarded front back by bunkers. The hole location on the right is difficult.
Bunkers block a green sloping front to back, making it tough to stop the ball on the surface.

excellent test of thegame
outstanding greens, smooth as a billiard table, not too undulating....... tees and fairways were good.
Some of the intermediate areas were on the rough side
Private club open to public
Greens were in great shape. Speed of play great. Not sure I can justify the $100 to play. Probably won't go back for that reason. $75/ 80 might be more reasonable. Glad I got to play it once though
Great value
Pleasantly surprised at how much value we received at this private golf course. Beautiful club house, practice areas and challenging golf course layout. Greens were just as good as high end courses in the valley, balls rolled true and fast. Mature trees throughout the course and water coming in to play here and there. My buddy scored 69 with 4 birdies, without saying he loves the place! We'll definitely be back.
Worth the cost.
Always a pleasure to have the opportunity to play a private course at a reasonable price. Well run, well kept. Wide fairways yet a good challenge.
Moon Valley CC
Tees and Greens were excellent and fairways were very good (when I was in them). Pace of play was good for this time of the year.
Nice course but very slow pace!
First off, after reading all the reviews on people playing in 4 hours or less I was very excited to play here. We played on a Wednesday middle of the day/early afternoon and finished in just over 4.5 hours. We were waiting on almost every single hole for the groups in front so not happy about that.
The course itself was in very good condition, fairways were excellent, greens were very nice and consistent, bunkers had plenty of sand. I would try and play this course again and hope it doesn't take as long next time, otherwise will probably look elsewhere.
Moon Valley
Great value for this quality of course. Very playable and enjoyable. Greens and fairways good shape compared to some other courses this time of year.
Great day at Noon Valley
Awesome course. Trees, water and sand can comeinto play. It is a challenging course and very fun. Course has everything you need -- practice range with balls, chipping green, sand bunker and a couple of putting greens so you can get ready and be prepared for your round. Puttin greens pretty much represent what you will see on the course so take your time and warm up.
The greens are very challenging
This course can be challenging from the back tees. That's why I play from blue/white combo. Really enjoyed the course! It's in very good condition.
Great course but no GPS
The staff were all very nice. The course is very enjoyable for all skill levels. The day would have been more enjoyable and scores better if we brought along a gps unit. Not all sprinkler heads marked and some holes with corners, traps, etc and knowing the distance to them would be helpfu.
You're paying for the country club experience
We played at 9:30 on a Sunday morning, and the course was surprisingly empty. We zipped around as a two-some. It has a few interesting, difficult holes, like the par 3 5th, and the par 4s 9 and 17. But sadly, the design is overall a bit bland. It's routed through houses and a lot of holes aren't too interesting. It's in great shape though, and it's private. So you're paying for the country club experience and the untouched pyramid of range balls ready for you on the range.
This course has great features
Wonderful golf course! This was the first time I played this course and I was impressed.
First time there and enjoyed it.
Had fun playing the course and good company.
Had some great guys to play with so made the day enjoyable.
Excellent Championship quality golf course
Excellent course and first class service. Really enjoyed the round.
Nice Greens and fairways
the only thing I think this course could use is better Ruff conditions. There really wasn't any, in some places the ground appear to be under repair, but it didn't affect the play of golf.
Great course
What a terrific course. It was enjoyable to play. The staff were not welcoming to us, non-members but I would still play it again.
great value on a championship course.
We played our round in less than 4 hours. The fairways, greens and tee boxes are in perfect condition. We will be back.
Great layout and excellent conditions
Traditional course with great mix of holes. Course was in fantastic condition, and a lot of fun to play. We will definitely be back.
The course is in great condition.
The whole experience was very good. It isn't resort golf, but we liked it better. Definitely a good club experience.
Great course!!!
I have lived in Phoenix most of my 44 years but this was the first time I played Moon Valley and it was great! Challenging layout an very well kept...just not in the best neighborhood and the neighbors don't care about the course. Staff was great and the members I ran into were friendly. I have already recommended this course to a number of my golf friends.
